Alternatively, you can be eligible on the basis of property that you own (provided it meets certain requirements).
The Visas
There are several ways to get Dubai residence visa on the basis of investment
  • Residence for Company Founders Owners of companies registered in Dubai are eligible
  • Residence for Property Owners For those who invest in local real estate
  • Residence for Family Members Both categories get an opportunity to sponsor their immediate family members' visas
Residence for Company Founders
As part of coordinated effort to attract investors, Dubai offers residence to company founders who decide to start their business in the city. Company owners of mainland and free zone companies can apply for a residence visa on condition that their share in the company exceeds a designated amount.

A standard partner visa is given for 2 years with possibility of renewal, however, with larger investments you can be eligible for long-term visas for 5 or 10 years (subject to additional conditions).
Residence for Property Owners
Another popular way to get residence in Dubai is by investing in real estate. In order to be eligible for a standard renewable two years visa on the basis of property ownership you have to own a residential property worth AED 750,000 ($205,000) or more at the time of purchase (it can be renewed as long as you remain the owner).

Owning a property worth AED 2,000,000 ($545,000) or more makes you eligible for a long-term (10 years) residence visa.
Residence for Family Members
When you get a residence visa in Dubai, whether by investing in real estate or owning a company, you are also allowed to sponsor your direct family members’ – your spouse’s, children’s and parents’ – visas, so that they can get Dubai residence too. Attested personal documents, such as marriage and birth certificates, are required.
